Devising Deputy Coordinator
Job Category: Faculty Leadership Opportunities
Job Type: Volunteer
The Deputy Coordinator of Devising works in support of and collaboratively with the Devised Coordinator to provide programming centered on devised theatre.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist the Coordinator of Devising in recruiting guest artists and presenters
- Attend Production Respondent training and respond to at least one student production per semester
- Attend the annual Regional Festival typically held in the first or second week of February
- Assist the Coordinator with facilitation of Festival Events
- Communicate with students, faculty, and guest artists prior to and during the Festival
- Attend (virtually or in-person, as needed) planning meetings and regional committee meetings
- Collaborate with the Regional Committee to ensure just and equitable practices in programming, recruiting of guest artists and response to and celebration of student work
- Deputy will serve alongside of the Coordinator to learn the position
Desired Qualifications:
- Candidates should have at least a part time affiliation with an institution of higher learning.
- Candidates should have demonstrated experience in devised theatre, playwriting or other collaborative theatre making
- We are seeking applicants that represent a diverse array of lived experiences, including, but not limited to race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, gender identity, educational background and more.
- Term of Service: Typically, Coordinators serve a term of 3 years as Deputy Coordinator and then assume a term of 3 years as Coordinator.

- 4. Their expertise in the area for which they are nominated.
- C. A letter from the nominee’s department chair, dean or direct supervisor offering support from their home institution.
- D. At least two letters of recommendation from those who are familiar with the nominee’s work as a creative artist and evaluator.
- E. The applicant will be presented to regional leadership for vetting and final approval no later than November 2024.

Stage Management Coordinator

- The Stage Management Coordinator will be responsible for vetting and assigning student stage managers who assist in the operation of festival initiatives and programs.
- Coordinate and recruit guest artists and presenters for the festival
- Attend Production Respondent training and respond to at least one student production per semester
- Attend the annual Regional Festival typically held in the first or second week of February
- Coordinate the facilitation of stage management events and assist in some DTM Festival Events
- Communicate with stage management students, faculty, and guest artists prior to and during the Festival
- Attend (virtually or in-person, as needed) planning meetings and regional committee meetings
- Collaborate with the Regional Committee to ensure just and equitable practices in programming, recruiting of guest artists and response to and celebration of student work
