National KCACTF Honors Two Region IV Scripts
KCACTF National has announced its top honors for playwriting, and our Region is proud to have hosted two of them!
William O’Neal II from Emory University was among the most-lauded playwrights from any Region, for his play To All the Strange Boys Who Had to Grow Up. That script was honored with:
- The National Undergraduate Playwriting Awards – Second Place
- The Lorraine Hansberry Playwriting Awards – Distinguished Achievement
- The Darrell Ayers National Playwriting Awards – Distinguished Achievement
Syreeta Briggs from Savannah College of Art and Design was honored with the Hip Hop Theatre Creator Award for their play Teeth: A Morality Play… For an Orca-Struh uh Black Folk Tied uh Grinnin’.
