Bringing Order to Chaos. An introduction to planning, budgeting, and estimating for a smooth production process

This session focuses on different methods to develop a process for production planning. The discussion will include breaking down designs to create budget estimates for scenery, props, electrics, and costumes. In addition, we will examine how to take designer information and turn it into a realistic estimate for labor and materials that fits into the given resources, time, and money. Good estimates and calendar planning are essential to the entire production process. They help ensure that each area has enough time and money to finish on time and on budget successfully.
