Makeup Design for Theatre

In this workshop, Gordon explains the process of designing makeup for theatre. Topics include designing makeup application and theatrical makeup effects, applying color theory in makeup and highlight/shadow illusion, developing competence in the execution of makeup designs, and communicating visual ideas and designs, images.

Gordon holds a BS and MFA in theatre, has been a college professor since 1999, and is a Fulbright Scholar. He also works as a freelance teaching artist and as a teaching artist for Mehron makeup.​

Gordon has worked professionally as a makeup artist in national and regional arenas for companies including Paramount, Barter Theatre, and Theatre IV. He successfully completed Dick Smith’s professional makeup course and has currently worked makeup and wigs on 18 national Broadway tours.
